Heavy Equipment Operator (Excavator/Wheel Loader/Dozer/Roller/Grader)
Position Overview
The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining construction machinery such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, cranes, and graders. This role ensures safe, efficient, and timely execution of earthmoving, lifting, and material-handling tasks critical to project success.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery (excavators, bulldozers, loaders, cranes, graders, etc.) to perform excavation, grading, lifting, and material transport.
- Conduct pre-operation checks and routine inspections to ensure equipment safety and functionality.
- Follow site plans, instructions from supervisors, and safety protocols during operations.
- Perform minor maintenance and report mechanical issues to the maintenance team.
- Ensure proper use of attachments and tools for specific tasks.
- Maintain accurate logs of machine usage, fuel consumption, and service records.
- Collaborate with site engineers, supervisors, and other workers to meet project deadlines.
- Adhere strictly to occupational health and safety standards.
- Assist in training junior operators or helpers when required.
Qualifications & Skills
- Valid heavy equipment operator license/certification. (GULF License for Heavy Equipment's)
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience operating construction machinery.
- TUV/Bureau Veritas Trade Test Certificate
- Strong knowledge of equipment capabilities, limitations, and safety procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and site layouts.
- Physical fitness and stamina to work in demanding site conditions.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Problem-solving ability for on-site operational challenges.
